Donald Raymond, 92, a resident of the Bluffs in Houghton for the past 4 years, passed away on February 21, 2015 at Cypress Manor in Hancock.
Don was born on April 26, 1923 in Belleville, Michigan to his parents, Darryl and Josephine (Bradshaw) Raymond. He attended and graduated from Belleville High School with the class of 1941.
On December 19, 1942 he married his wife, the late Helen Ruth (Lindblad) Raymond at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Belleville. She passed away on April 19, 2012.
He owned and operated Standard Oil Co. in Bellville, Don F. Raymond Inc. as an Amoco Jobber, and Raymond’s Dairy Bar in Belleville, Michigan. Later, he and Helen moved to Florida, where they lived for 20 years, and owned Raym Co-Research and Development Co. They moved to the Copper Country in 1999 after their retirement. In his free time, he loved photography.
Don was a veteran having served in the US Army, during World War II, serving in England, France, and Germany.
He was a veteran having served in England, France and Germany in the U.S. Army during WW II.
He was a member of National Lutheran Church until its closing and now was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Houghton

A funeral Service for Donald will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday February 25 at The Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet, Michigan with Rev. Glenn Schwanke to officiate, visitation will also be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
