Ethelyn (Reuben) Davey, 86, a resident of Calumet, passed away Friday afternoon October 17, 2014, at Our Lady of Mercy Convalescent Home in Hubbell where she had been a resident patient for the past three years.
She was born on February 2, 1928, in Pontiac, MI a daughter of the late Edward and Minnie (Davey) Schultz. As a child she moved to Hancock where she was raised by her grandparents Thomas and Cora Davey. Ethelyn was a graduate of the Hancock High School and attended Soumi College.
On September 2, 1950, she was united in marriage to Reuben Davey Jr.
She was a member of the Calumet United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Womens Circle and was a Sunday School Teacher, Camp Fire Girl leader, Calumet Womens Club. A past present of Calumet Laurium V.F.W. Auxiliary 3900 for twenty years, were she held chairmanships and offices in the V.F.W. 15 district, she was a past president of AARP Houghton Chapter 1676, A member of the Copper Ingot V.F.W. 4624 and held several offices and chairmanships.
She was formally employed at Superior National Bank and Vertin Brothers of Calumet.
Preceding her in death were her twin infant sons, her infant daughter Carol Ann her daughter Ruthann and her parents.

Her daughter: Cindy Davey
Her grandchildren: Jennifer Butkovich, Tracy LaBonte and Todd Labonte and three great grandchildren

Funeral services for Ethelyn will be held 2 pm Tuesday October 20, 2014, at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home of Calumet with Rev. Robert White and Kenneth Toth to officiate. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery of Calumet.
Friends may call on Tuesday October 20, 2014, from 1 pm until time of services at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family suggests that memorials be given to the Calumet Methodist Church Memorial Fund in memory of Ethelyn Davey.
